OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB MANAGER

 

This is a full-time post: 37.5 hours per week all year round.

The salary is £21,723 per annum.

  • A rare opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, positive, and well organised manager to join the team to manage the support and delivery of quality childcare at Kool Kids Out of School Club.  
  • You will be employed by the Trustees of Kool Kids Out of School Club and the role will involve maintaining organised records for the day to day running of the breakfast and out of school club by taking a lead role in the development of high-quality learning and maintaining a safe and secure environment.  
  • In supporting the role, trustees engage a Support Service Manager to support the manager in the day-to-day operation of the club.

 

Apart from an abundance of energy, humour and kindness, the successful applicant will need to: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of planning and facilitating an outstanding play environment based upon Playwork Principles for children aged from 4 to 11 years alongside sound knowledge of the EYFS.
  • Take a leading role in the development of a high-quality safe and secure environment
  • Be committed to providing excellent care for children.
  • Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised person who can use their initiative as well as be part of a team.
  • Work well in a leadership capacity to lead the staff team and to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional and positive partnership with Clifton with Rawcliffe Primary and liaise in a professional manner with all school staff.

 

Responsibilities and duties:

  • To ensure all policies and procedures are followed by the staff team at all times.
  • To ensure staff are aware of and follow all risk assessments.
  • To ensure that all staff follow the activity plans devised and meet the requirements of EYFS. 
  • To support and encourage the staff team to express their ideas.
  • To provide a fully inclusive, stimulating, safe and caring environment to enable each child to reach their full potential.
  • To carry out regular supervisions and annual appraisals for all staff.
  • To support the staff team to positively promote and manage children’s behaviour.
  • To devise staff rotas.
  • To organise and attend monthly staff meetings.
  • To attend monthly meetings with the OOSC Support Service Manager and Trustees.
  • To attend training sessions provided by the OOSC Support Service.
  • To organise the daily children’s attendance registers.
  • Take and maintain childcare bookings.
  • To liaise with the school regarding family issues, safeguarding and any incidents, when appropriate.
  • To report any incidents or complaints to the Trustees.
  • To liaise with the OOSC Finance Administrator with regards to invoices and accounts.
  • To liaise with other outside agencies.

 

Experience

  • At least 2 year’s managerial experience.
  • Must have a minimum of level 3 qualification in childcare / education / learning in the early years.

 Deputy Manager

We currently have the opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive, and well organised Deputy Manager to join the team to support and deliver quality childcare at Kool Kids Out of School Club. The role will involve the day to day running of the breakfast and out of school club and taking a lead role with the children in the over 8’s room. Supporting the manager in the development of high-quality learning, maintaining a safe and secure environment. You will be employed by the Trustees of Kool Kids Out of School Club.

 

The successful applicant will be required to: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of planning and facilitating an outstanding play environment based upon Playwork Principles for children aged from 3 to 11 years alongside a sound knowledge of the EYFS.
  • Taking a supporting role in the development of high-quality safe and secure environment

  • To complete staff rotas, sign in sheets, maintain leave and sickness records and complete monthly timesheets for payroll.
  • To attend monthly staff meetings.
  • To attend monthly meetings with the Trustees.
  • To attend training sessions.
  • Prepare daily children’s registers.
  • Take and maintain permanent and casual childcare bookings.
  • To liaise with the school regarding family issues, safeguarding and incidents when appropriate.
  • To liaise with the OOSC Finance Administrator with regards to debts, invoices, and accounts.
  • To liaise with other outside agencies where appropriate.

 

Experience

 

  • Experience in the role is an advantage but not essential. A full induction and training will be given upon appointment.
  • Must have knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and a minimum of Level 3 Qualification in childcare / education / learning in the early years.

This is a deputy manager post: 37.5 hours per week all year round.

The salary is currently £10.15 per hour.

1 x Playworker Vacancy

 

We currently have the opportunity for a Part Time (25 hours p/week) playworker to join our team on a permanent basis to work in our busy Out of School club.

The successful candidate will be required to work 7.15am – 9am and 2:45pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.  Additional hours may be offered during school holidays.

 

The successful candidate must have experience of or be able to demonstrate:

 

  • A good understanding of the playwork
  • Involvement in the planning of out of school club activities
  • Lead and or support safe creative and appropriate play opportunities for a range of different age groups
  • Willingness to undertake training opportunities
  • Care for the everyday needs of children and help to ensure a safe and secure setting

 

Experience

We are looking for a committed, self-motivated person who enjoys providing high quality childcare to children.  You must be a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who can work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

A Level 3 Qualification in playwork/childcare/early years is an advantage but not essential
