What do you enjoy about being a trustee for York Childcare?

Many things! I really enjoy learning more about early years education - it's far more complex than I ever realised and the staff working in each of our nurseries are definitely heroes. I enjoy providing a 'parent perspective' on the board of trustees, often asking what do primary caregivers value, and want, from York Childcare for our children and families. Finally, I would say that being a trustee doesn't come without it's challenges - but I love trying to bring people closer together in my day job and so I have a real sense of pride in hearing about how York Childcare staff, right across all three nurseries, in Head Office, the Out of School Clubs and on the Board of Trustees, work as a team to support our children, and each other - with charitable objectives at the heart of this, it makes York Childcare such a special organisation to be involved with.
