“Play” and “freedom of choice” are the key criteria in all our planned activities. Children are encouraged to make choices and suggestions about activities, equipment and materials .There are planned crafts and physical activities as an option, but the children have a free choice.
Breakfast Club
Infants are taken to the infant playground just as school starts and are watched till they go through their classroom door. Juniors are accompanied to the junior playground. The price includes a breakfast, we provide, a variety of cereals, toast, fruit juice, milk etc. Please let us know if your child has to have a breakfast, as we find children will go off and play and ignore calls to breakfast.
After School Club
Children from year 4 and up, make their own way to the club using the back door, infants and year 3 children are collected from their classrooms by a member of staff. Once children arrive we mark them off the register and if a child does not arrive, we will immediately go looking for them and contact the school and parents. If you know your child is not going to be attending after school club please let us know.
We provide a snack at about 3.45pm to keep the children going till their "tea" time. We offer fruit, veg, and something different each day, such as, toast, pancakes, pizza, pasta, beans, buns, crackers etc.
If your child is at a club at school we will collect the younger ones at 4.15pm and will make sure they get offered a snack when they arrive.
Wrap-around Care
From 3 years old children can attend breakfast club, after school club and holiday club giving parents the opportunity of full “wrap-around” care from 8 am – 6pm.
